Earlier this week there was a bit of a panic here in Roman Around HQ when I realized that I had not been 'on top' of a crucial deadline: the print deadline for Edinburgh Fringe promo materials. As I understand that the Fringe is roughly 5% performing 30% seeing shows 20% partying and 45% stuffing a flyer into the hand of anyone within arms reach, this is a crucial deadline. I had previously secured the agreement of my friend and go-to designer Andy McAlpine (check out this awesome poster he made for the Flunky avant-premiere!), but if I didn't know this deadline was hurtling towards me, there's no way he did either.
So I sent him an email, followed it up with some gchat and he said he'd see what he could do.
Today, just after noon: he sent the print-ready flyer and poster materials along. Ahead of schedule. Total class. Then he went into the heart of Amsterdam where he lives and watch Holland beat Brazil. I sent the material to the printers and breathed a huge sigh of relief.
It's a good day for everybody.
